High Levels of Vitamin C

People with high levels of Vitamin C in their blood have about half the risk of dying when compared to people with low levels - regardless of age.

A study conducted by Cambridge University in England and reported in the Lancet found low plasma levels of Vitamin C were directly related to higher mortality from all causes, especially from heart disease.

High levels of Vitamin C were protective even against cancer.

The researchers found eating even one extra serving per day of a fruit or vegetable rich in Vitamin C would reduce the daily risk of death by 20 percent. They concluded even modest increases in fruit and vegetable consumption would have a major impact in preventing disease.

BarleyLife Xtra contains high levels of Vitamin C.
