Plant-based Omega-3 in AIMega

Flaxseed oil provides one of the richest sources of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), the parent molecule of omega-3 essential fatty acids.

People cannot synthesize this plant-based omega-3 because they lack the necessary enzymes. Therefore, it's an essential nutrient and it can only come from your diet.

Food sources include walnuts, tofu and flaxseeds.

It makes sense to supplement with the organic flaxseed oil in AIMega because most people do not get enough.

One of the many reasons why it's essential to have sufficient amounts is ALA is a major structural component of cell membranes, maintaining their flexibility, fluidity and permeability, as well as enzymes that are active in and around cell membranes.

Among its many health benefits, ALA has been shown to be effective in the prevention of cardiovascular disease.

Note: Alpha-linolenic acid is one of two essential fatty acids that AIMega® provides, because it also contains plant-based omega-6 linoleic acid (LA) from organic flaxseed, sesame, sunflower seed oils plus olive oil.
