The Importance of Green Foods

One reason greens are important is because they are rich in magnesium.

Magnesium is necessary for hundreds of functions in the body, including weight loss, strong bones and a healthy heart. 

The chlorophyll molecule in green foods is shaped like the hemoglobin in our red blood cells. The only difference is an iron molecule sits in the middle of the hemoglobin ring and magnesium sits in the center of a chlorophyll ring.

This is why all green foods are particularly healing to those on the Standard American Diet (SAD). The SAD diet is deficient in minerals such as magnesium found in green foods.
