The Power of Purple Foods

Purple foods are known for their anti-aging properties.

These foods have tons of antioxidants (plant medicines), which are called anthocyanins and phenolics. They help improve circulation and prevent blood clots, which helps prevent heart disease, cancer and your overall health.

They are also known to help memory function and urinary tract health and to reduce free radical damage.

Blueberries are one of the best purple foods. They contain large amounts of antioxidant phytonutrients called anthocyanidins. This plant pigment is responsible for the color of blueberries as well as for several of the health benefits.

Blueberries are good sources of vitamin C, manganese and fiber.

Some of the health benefits linked to blueberries include decreasing one's risk of heart disease, improving nighttime visual acuity, lowering the risk of developing of age-related macular degeneration of the eyes, and reducing the risk of developing certain types of cancer.
