Fruits and Veggies: The Power to Prevent Cancer

Until recently, cancer was a rare disease.

In healthy cultures, like the Hunzas, no one got cancer. The cancer rate was zero, and these people regularly lived into their hundreds.

In nineteenth-century America, about five out of a thousand people developed cancer.

By the turn of the last century, in our already less-than-healthy culture, cancer affected twenty to thirty people out of a thousand.

Today cancer is one of the leading causes of death, and one out of every two Americans will get cancer in their lifetime.

As we created our modern way of life, we unintentionally also created the conditions responsible for our current cancer epidemic.

Fortunately, we now understand the conditions that create cancer and therefore, what we need to do to reverse this devastating trend.

For example, just three servings a month of raw broccoli or cabbage can reduce the risk of bladder cancer by as much as 40 percent.

These amazing findings were reported this week by researchers from the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York, at the American Association of Cancer Research in Philadelphia.

These foods and others in the crucifer family, like arugula, bok choy, beet greens, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, chard, collard greens, kale, radishes, turnips and watercress, contain many cancer-fighting chemicals, some of which are inactivated by cooking. This is why raw foods are superior.

At the same conference, a team of researchers from Ohio State University reported that feeding patients freeze dried blackberries substantially reduced markers of cancer found in the patients' urine.

The bottom line is this: Raw fruits and vegetables contain nutrients that both prevent and reverse cancer.

Unfortunately, our modern, nutrient-depleted foods no longer contain sufficient nutrients for us to stay healthy.

According to the National Academy of Sciences, it is no longer possible to get all the nutrition we need - even if we eat a good diet. Supplementation is necessary.

But what if you can't don't even eat right at all?

That's why they created BarleyLife Xtra. It's 18 fruit and veggies in a barley grass powder.
