The Fat Loss System
A few years ago, Jack LaLanne, a 90-year old fitness guru had to say about weight loss. He summed up his philosophy in one simple phrase.
He said… Follow The Laws of Nature.
What does that mean?
It means this: Avoid foods that are processed, demineralized and unnatural. Avoid foods that come in a bag, box, or wrapper. Avoid food that is laced with sugar and preservatives.
In other words, if you can’t go outside and hunt it down - it's unnatural. If you can't pick it from a tree or pull it from the ground - it's unnatural.
Now, there is an important point about following Nature's Laws that might be confusing. And that is: avoid all starchy food.
You might be asking why.
Don't wheat, rice, potatoes and corn grow in nature?
Yes, they do.
But they react with your body in an unnatural way.
How so?
First of all, when you eat rice and wheat, you are eating a processed, refined version of them. For the most part, these foods would be inedible without processing and cooking.
Second, eating rice and wheat, as well as potatoes and corn, makes many people secrete excess insulin.
Second, eating rice and wheat, as well as potatoes and corn, makes many people secrete excess insulin.
When this extra insulin enters your bloodstream, it increases the amount of fat your body deposits.
So, even though you’re eating low-fat foods, you can become fatter because of the extra insulin your body secretes.
This means that the common cliché, eating fat makes you fat, is all wrong.
Third, starchy foods are difficult for your body to digest. They slow down your metabolism, giving you a feeling of tiredness and make your body retain water.
Finally, starchy foods make your body secrete serotonin, a chemical that makes you feel drowsy and lethargic.
Now, as far as losing weight is concerned, you will find that the worst kind of foods for you are those that are high in carbohydrates and high in fat. It is the combination of the two that puts the weight on your waistline.

For example, hamburger and french fries, spaghetti and meat balls, fried eggs with toast and hashbrowns - these are perfect examples of poor eating choices.
These unhealthy combinations of fat and starch are the main reason why people gain excess weight.
A summary of the Do's and Don'ts of how to follow Nature's Laws:
- Do not eat foods that come in a box, bag, wrapper or are processed and refined. Do not eat starchy foods such as breads, potatoes, corn, beans, or flour.
- Do not eat foods that are laced with sugar, salt, preservatives and chemicals
- Do not worry about the fat content of natural foods such as fish, eggs, meat, and poultry.
- Do not eat the unnatural fat you find in potato chips and candy bars, and the combination of fat and starch found in meat and potatoes - that is what’s bad for you.
It's hard to lose weight by simply restricting calories. Eating less and losing excess body fat do not automatically go hand in hand.
Low-calorie, high-carbohydrate diets generate a series of biochemical signals in your body that will take you out of the balance, making it more difficult to access stored body fat for energy. Result: you'll reach a weight-loss plateau, beyond which you simply can't lose any more weight.
Diets based on choice restriction and calorie limits usually fail. People on restrictive diets get tired of feeling hungry and deprived.

They go off their diets, put the weight back on (primarily as increased body fat), and then feel bad about themselves for not having enough will power, discipline, or motivation.
Weight loss has little to do with will power.
You need information, not will power. If you change what you eat, you don't have to be overly concerned about how much you eat.

Adhering to a diet of low carbohydrate meals, you can eat enough to feel satisfied and still wind up losing fat-without obsessively counting calories or fat grams.
Final Point
The eating of refined, unnatural foods slows down your metabolism and causes your body to release too much insulin and causes water retention.

You'll also have a lot more energy by eating this way and your mind will be sharper.
