He Finally Finished the Ride

Richard Porter

Richard had tried the ride twice before.

Three hundred miles.

Three days in a row.

A charity ride from Plainview, Texas to the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

Both times, he came up short.

The problem wasn’t riding.

It was recovery.

One hundred miles in a single day is hard enough.

But getting up and doing it again the next morning?

That was the real challenge.

Around that time, a friend introduced him to something simple.

BarleyLife.

Just Carrots.

RediBeets.

The Garden Trio.

At first, he wasn’t sure what to think.

But after trying it before a workout, something stood out to him.

“I was stunned at how good I felt.”

Especially during recovery.

So he kept using it.

And on his next attempt...

he finished the full 300 miles.

The ride still had challenges.

Strong headwinds.

Flat tires.

Road construction.

But this time was different.

Richard said the biggest thing he noticed was how he felt the next morning.

Less run down.

Less exhausted.

More ready to go again.

That stayed with me.

Because most people eventually realize something:

Recovery matters.

Especially as we get older.
