People Kept Asking If She Had Shingles
Strangers kept stopping her to ask the same question.
“Do you have shingles?”
In 2012, Jan Kusch was diagnosed with chronic dermatomyositis, a rare autoimmune disease affecting the muscles and skin.
Her hands, chest, scalp, face, neck, and eyelids became badly irritated.
Her muscles hurt so much that even driving and typing became difficult.
Walking was getting harder too.
At the same time, life kept piling on more stress.
Her mother was in the final stages of Alzheimer’s.
Her son was serving in Afghanistan.
And her health insurance business was under pressure.
Meanwhile, the medications kept increasing.
But she felt like she was getting worse instead of better.
Then two things happened.
A friend introduced her to AIM nutrition products.
And she finally got accepted as a new patient with a different doctor.
Her doctor supported the nutritional changes Jan had started making.
She also recommended physical therapy, dietary changes, and gradually reducing medications.
About a year later, Jan no longer needed weekly methotrexate injections.
That got her attention.
Jan says managing inflammation became one of the biggest priorities in her life.
She credits daily nutritional support with helping improve her quality of life.
Years later, she was even able to travel through Europe with her son for two weeks.
England.
France.
Ireland.
Sometimes people don’t expect life to improve again after things get really difficult.
That’s what makes stories like this memorable.
