Do You Believe Nutrition Matters?

I’ll Never Forget That Day…

The doctor cleared his throat.

“I’m sorry… but I have bad news.”

He looked at my dad.

“You have cancer.”

In high school, my dad was strong. Athletic.

Now he was sick.

Very sick.

Before long, he needed oxygen just to breathe.

And he stayed that way…

for eight long years.

Eight long years connected to a machine just to stay alive.

Simple things became hard.

Walking. Sleeping. Even getting up.

Eventually, he couldn’t climb the stairs.

He spent his final years in a hospital bed in the den.

One afternoon, my mom heard him gasping for air.

She ran in.

“Breathe, Paul! Breathe!”

But it was too late.

That night, the phone rang.

“Your father has passed away.”

I don’t want to end up like that.

After watching him suffer for eight long years… that’s the decision I made.

Most people already know they’re not eating the way they should.

Busy days.

Quick meals.

“I’ll do better tomorrow.”

I used to think the same way.

So I started doing something simple every day.

Not perfect.

Just consistent.

A friend of mine, Janice, did something similar.

By her mid-70s, her health had declined enough that her family was considering a full-time nurse.

She made a simple change to her daily nutrition.

Little by little, her health improved.

She went on living independently for years.

Nothing extreme.

Just something done daily.

If you’ve ever thought:

“I should probably take better care of myself…”

You already know.

The question is:

Do you keep going the same direction…
or do you change something simple now?
