Ready... Set... Toad!

Our home is located in an older, established neighborhood with lots of big trees and green grass. 

We love how we're centrally located, with a nice park close by as well as several schools within close walking distance, including Conway High School and the University of Central Arkansas.

One of the neater things about where we live, however, is the Toad Suck Run race goes right by our house! 

A part of the Toad Suck Daze festival, it's a 5K and 10K race hosted by the Conway Running Club, with runners coming from all over the state to participate.

I get up early on Saturday morning and stand in the front lawn, waving and talking to the runners as they go by. 

The interaction is neat, with the racers smiling and saying, "Come join us!" 

I'll laugh and say, "Maybe next year!" 

When it's all over, I'll come back inside and get ready to head downtown, for the sights and sounds of Toad Suck Daze.

Next year, things will be a bit different, as I plan to run in the race. It ought to be a lot of fun!
